More exciting local Grammy news! The Berkeley-born band Green Day won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album for American Idiot. Even more exciting, the cast of the upcoming Broadway musical of the same name came on stage Sunday night to sing the song “21 Guns” with the band during the 52nd annual awards show seen across the nation. But even more exciting than all this is the fact that the musical got its start right here in the Bay Area at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, which has already sent several other shows to Broadway! The musical is slated to start previews at Manhattan’s St. James Theatre March 24 for an April 20 opening.
